Designer Gaurav Khanijo gets engaged to the love of his life, Reeyaa Nair, in Kerala

To tell the truth, there is something about love stories that fills us with a sense of warmth, akin to the feeling of coming home. Whether it's the romance we are witnessing at the Olympics or the epic love stories Bollywood has gifted us—like Raj and Simran in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge or Rocky and Rani in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani—they all spur that comforting sense of familiarity. It is safe to say that we are all obsessed with love stories, for all the right reasons. Much like a Bollywood film storyline, the story of designer Gaurav Khanijo and model turned entrepreneur and restaurateur Reeyaa Nair will make you go “Aww.” 

Khanijo describes his meeting with Reeyaa Nair as if it were written in the stars for them. The duo recently got engaged in Kerala, Nair’s hometown. Khanijo, wanted their proposal to be special and hence picked a place that was sacred to them—the Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple in Thrissur, also known as the “Dwarka of South India”.

The couple has been together for a while and has definitely supported each other through the many stages of life. Khanijo believes Nair has helped him understand himself better and connect with his spirituality on a deeper level. This, he admits, has greatly contributed to his creative expressions.

Here is a peek into a luxurious photoshoot the couple indulged in after their engagement, enjoying a romantic evening at the Taj Malabar in Cochin. It's clear that love is truly in the air.
