Everything you need to know about how Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth chose their wedding rings

An exclusive behind-the-scenes look of the making of the two rings.

Wedding rings are a timeless representation of love and dedication. These bands embody eternal love and thus, the process of choosing a ring is extremely personal and gratifying. So much so that some couples often choose to personalise their rings to signify their story or include details that represent them as a couple.

Actors Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth Suryanarayan have done just that and we got an exclusive behind-the-scenes peek into the making of these rings. The couple, who met on the sets of their film Maha Samudram, shared the news of their engagement via an Instagram post on March 28, showing off their stunning engagement rings. Both the actors' rings are a powerful symbol of their love for each other and their reverence for their family histories. The rings, designed by Esshitha Guna, founder of Andal Gems and Jewels, symbolise their bond. Guna talks to Brides Today about the making process, the story each gem tells and more.

The journey behind Aditi Rao Hydari’s ring

Hydari’s breathtaking Toi Et Moi (You and Me) ring features two diamonds, one round and one pear-shaped diamond both of which were sourced from Golconda mines in India. The destination was a reflection of Hydari’s desire to have her legacy and history represented through the ring.

“We started our search for the perfect stones months before the proposal. Our team of senior gemologists ensured multiple rounds of strict stone selection, focusing on the 4Cs of a diamond. The diamonds we chose, sit on an 18k gold band and embody elegance and romance. The ring was crafted in our manufacturing unit in Mumbai and delivered to Siddharth before his proposal.” Guna added.

Siddharth’s ring: A tribute to his love for cinema

Siddharth’s ring comprised a harmonious blend of the 'big-three' gemstones—a ruby, an emerald, and a deep ocean blue gemstone, showcasing the primary colours that create light. This was an ode to his love for cinema and their love story as actors who found each other. Each gemstone was custom-cut and complemented by brilliant cut diamonds, creating a piece that is both intricate and striking.

“Although the ring appears sleek and straightforward, it was our most challenging piece at Andal,” said Guna. “The precision and technicality involved in maintaining symmetry and balance between the gemstones and diamonds, all embedded within an 18k gold matte brushed band makes this a ring full of details and character.”

Both the rings were crafted by a team of gemologists and India’s finest karigars, which makes them unique and special in their own way. “It was important that everyone involved in the process knew the heart, soul, and purpose of the rings for the experience to be incredibly pure and co-creative. The couple was also deeply involved in the process of bringing their vision to life with us. I’ll always remember the heartwarming moment when Siddharth informed us, ‘She said yes’. It was a culmination of months of hard work and emotion, all coming together in that magical moment.” said Guna.

“This experience was incredibly pure and co-creative for us at Andal. As someone who loves love stories, making these rings for their love story was a cherished experience. The couple were deeply involved in the process and infused their beautiful ideas, bringing their vision to life with us. I’ll always remember the heartwarming moment when Siddharth Anna informed us, ‘She said yes’. It was a culmination of months of hard work and emotion, all coming together in that magical moment.” she adds.
