Rhea Kapoor Tells Us What's On Her 'Non-Pinteresty' Wedding Mood Board

From food to music and decor, the celebrity stylist shares the trimmings that complete her dream wedding

“I think the first five things out of ten on my wedding board would be food,” declares Rhea Kapoor.

Touché! And there’s more…

She says, “I feel like there are two things that you cannot have a wedding without – one is chaat and the other one is kebabs. I would want stuff like Patthar ke Kebab and I want Banarasi Chaat…things that you don’t get in Bombay usually.”

Now that she has grabbed your attention with her wedding menu, prepare to be blown away. The celebrity stylist admits that she has never really given her own wedding much thought because ‘my life is anyway thinking about clothes.’ But she has the two most important aspects of a great wedding party covered – food and music!

“I’m not that Pinterest-y. Honestly, I have never been one of those girls who had a wedding scrapbook. But I have really thought most about music and food. Like I would want some of my songs in my wedding playlist. I would especially want to listen to Sham (Aisha) at my wedding and a lot of live music, of course. I feel it would be more laidback and less hectic. Oh! and my song Aa jao na (Veere Di Wedding) too, I just love that song,” says Rhea.

For someone who eats, breathes and sleeps fashion, unsurprisingly her wedding décor has strong zero-waste aesthetics at a time when conscious fashion is a shibboleth.

“In terms of the décor, I would want to create everything from scratch at my wedding. I’m not so much of a flower girl. I love flowers and I think they are beautiful but there’s not going to be an explosion of peonies and hydrangeas at my wedding. I would like to use a lot of local handicrafts. Like this year for my Diwali party, we created these ombré sunset lanterns and for me, that’s special because I know it is sustainable and it’s never going to go out of style,” she says.

Well, this is one mood board that we cannot wait to see come alive.
