What would your dream wedding be like?

That’s a question Vaani Kapoor hasn’t given much thought to—until now. Having just wrapped up our cover shoot in Mumbai, we are sitting in her room, surrounded by the exquisite saris and lehengas that she’s worn through the day.

Inspired, she shares her hopes and dreams with Brides Today.

What do you think your husband will be like? Someone who has similar core beliefs and values to mine. He’d have to be extremely kind-hearted, and a better human being than me. And I need to be able to respect him.

What’s a deal-breaker for you? Narcissism. Also, pettiness is a real turn-off.

Is physical attraction important? Of course! Otherwise, you might as well be best friends for life.

How would you like to be proposed to? I’d definitely want to be surprised.

What would the wedding be like? I think I’ll get married in South Africa with just my family and close friends there. But it also depends on the person I’m marrying. For all you know, he may want to get married in our living room—I’m okay with that too.

Do you have some ideas for the décor? Classy, and not in-your-face or blingy. And with lots of flowers—they bring so much freshness and beauty.

What would you wear to the functions? For my wedding day, I’ll wear a traditional lehenga. I love champagne, metallic, and neutral tones, and I think I’ll also include white in some of the functions. But I don’t know, I may just change my mind...You’re giving me a lot of food for thought.

Your ideal honeymoon wishlist? Many, many places. I’ve never been to Iceland, it sounds very cool. And I love Paris a lot. Or maybe South Africa—I’ll get married there, and honeymoon there. Easy!
