There are few of us who haven’t watched a Hallmark film and wondered if we too were going to meet a handsome prince and then get a fairytale wedding in a gorgeous, romantic palace. Tiaras, a horse-drawn carriage, a princess-style ballgown, there are lots of women who still want that. If your heart is set on an actual wedding ceremony fit for a queen, the universe has synced in order to make that happen for you.
Kensington Palace, where Kate Middleton and Prince William currently reside, can actually be booked for weddings. In fact, Nicky Hilton had her wedding here in 2015. And, why restrict the palace to your wedding ceremony? The Palace can be booked for a host of events, so think different, and maybe throw a themed reception? If you’re expecting that your party will happen in the same apartments as that of the royal couple, you’re wrong, but Kensington Palace has plenty of royal space for you to still have the night of your dreams.
You can avail three of Kensington Palace’s gardens and lawns for outdoor receptions. The East Front Gardens, which can fit up to 400 guests, the Sunken Garden, which fits 80 guests, and the Orangery Lawn, which has the capacity for 1,000 guests. While each of the gardens is stunning, the Sunken Garden has a central pool, and was inspired by a garden at Hampton Court Palace.

If you’re looking for more indoor options, you can use the Entrance Hall, Cupola Room, the King’s Gallery and the King’s Drawing Room. The Entrance Hall has a platform that works very well for speeches, and fits up to 300 people, while the Cupola Room has a trompe l’oeil ceiling mural that is to die for.

The Orangery, which is licensed for wedding ceremonies, is an absolutely breathtaking spot for a wedding. It was built in 1704 for Queen Anne’s orange trees, and can be booked throughout the year.

However, before you rush to book Kensington Palace, you must keep in mind that you’ll need to use one of their pre-approved vendors. It’s a pretty expansive list, including companies specialising in fireworks, so you should really be fine!
