Ed Westwick and Amy Jackson said "I do" for a second time on August 24, at a destination wedding in Italy—after tying the knot during a small civil ceremony in London. The couple hosted approximately 200 guests, who traveled from the States, India, and various parts of Europe, to join them for a three-day-long celebration on the Amalfi Coast. The picturesque region was the perfect place for their nuptials, with its timeless romance and vintage charm.
They reportedly wanted a wedding spot that was not only naturally beautiful, but surrounded by the ocean, hills, and vineyards. Guests included the Gossip Girl alum's former co-star Kelly Rutherford, model Daisy Lowe, comedian Jack Whitehall, and even derm-cosmetics mogul Dr Barbara Sturm. The festivities kicked off with a sunset cruise along the coastline of Ravello, Positano, and Sorrento, eventually anchoring in Capri. Looking to capture the nostalgic glamour of the region, the cruise featured blue-and-white decor and live Italian music. The couple and their guests sipped on cocktails and enjoyed a menu of Neapolitan-inspired cuisine along with sushi, of course.
On Saturday, the couple held their ceremony at the historic Castello Di Rocca Cilento, nestled in the hills offering staggering views of the sea. It was the perfect setting, offering old-world charm and the ideal backdrop for their love story. “Working with Amy and Ed on their Amalfi Coast wedding was a true joy. From the moment they expressed their desire for a destination wedding in Italy, I knew we would find the perfect setting”, said Costanza Giaconi, the founder, director, and partner for European operations at Resh & Co. “The enchanting Cilento and Amalfi Coast provided the ideal backdrop for the couple. Every detail, from the welcome party on the private motorboat to the wedding and reception and even the post-wedding celebration, was carefully curated to reflect their unique vision,” adds the Florence-based wedding planner.
Westwick donned an Armani tuxedo with a white jacket and black pants. Jackson’s son, Andreas, walked down the aisle with Westwick, carried the rings, and waited for his mother at the altar. Jackson was accompanied by flower girls and walked to her favourite song, "Nuvole Bianche" by Ludovico Einaudi and wore a custom gown by Italian designer Alberta Ferretti. The gown was made from a light and airy mikado fabric, ideal for the Italian summer heat. The look featured a 15-foot hand-embroidered veil that brought Jackson to tears when she first saw it.
For the reception, she wore a custom Pronovias Atelier, which combined a modern embellished corset and diamond rain-like gloves with vintage elements, making it the perfect fusion of past and present.
Since Jackson and Westwick exchanged traditional vows at their London ceremony, they took this occasion to recite handwritten vows to each other. The newlyweds exited the ceremony to Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," with their loved ones dancing down the aisle behind them.
After the ceremony, guests were free to roam the castle walls, led by flag bearers and musicians. There was limoncello, dancing, and singing—the perfect end to the perfect festivity.
