5 Easy Ways to Tone Your Thighs and Butt

No, there are no squats or lunges involved

You must have often heard that the best way to get toned thighs and a tight booty is to do squats and lunges everyday. However, the truth is these exercises tend to get boring after a while. So we spoke to Vesna P. Jacob, holistic fitness and Pilates expert and author to suggest simple and interesting exercises that make the whole process fun. “There are many exercises you can do to get your legs and especially thighs in shapes that a leg workout can never be boring,” she says. She recommends the five exercises given below. Do each exercise10-15 times, on each side.

‘V’s

This exercise not only works your thigh muscles, it is also a great way to tightening and lifting up the booty. Get on your all fours, hands and knees shoulder width apart. Slightly round your back, tighten the core and bend the leg with the toes pointing up towards the ceiling. Try to kick the ceiling with the leg going up diagonally as if you are trying to make the letter V.

Sideway Scorpion Kicks

Start on all fours and lift the leg up sideways so that the inner thigh is parallel to the ground to get into the starting position. Engage the core, and stretch the leg back and across to the opposite with the toes pointed and come to back to the starting position. Do 10-15 repetitions and repeat on the other leg.

Step and Kick Back

Stay on your hands and knees, being one leg forward so that the foot is in the line with your hands, from the kick the leg back and up towards the ceiling at the angle of 60 degrees, once you have the requisite number of reps, repeat on the other side.

Twisting Fire Hydrant

This exercise will not only fire your thighs and glutes but shape your obliques. Lift the leg up sideways so that the inner thighs are parallel to the ground , engage the core and bring knee towards the opposite elbow.

Step 2

Side Straight Leg Lifts

Start on your hands and knees and stretch one leg out to the side trying to get as close to a ninety degrees angle as possible with the toes rest on the ground. As you exhale lift the leg up to be parallel to the ground. Repeat on both side.
