Malvika Raaj and Pranav Bagga take us through their decade-long love story and ceremony in Goa

Child actor, Malvika Raaj from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, talks to Brides Today about her decade-long love story with couturier Pranav Bagga, and how it culminated in a beautiful wedding ceremony in Goa. 

How we met

“We met through common friends in college. Over a period of time, we fell in love and have been in love for more than a decade now.”

The next step

“How we decided to take the leap of faith is quite a funny story because our families aren’t the most easy going; they’re a little orthodox. So much so that we had never travelled together just by ourselves in all these years! They never allowed us and insisted that we at least get engaged and make it official before going on such a trip alone.”

Leading up to the big day

“Wedding planning was exhausting but so much fun! Now that the wedding is over, I’m actually missing the madness and chaos. We started planning it in January 2023 and it was quite crazy from January to November. It was a crazy roller-coaster ride because I was not only balancing work and shoots but, at the same time, also figuring out my life with the wedding.”

Memories that will last a lifetime

“My favourite memory from the wedding is of Pranav and I simply looking at each other while I was walking down the aisle. I looked at him and asked how I was looking because he had made my lehenga but was looking at me wearing it for the first time; he was never around during our trials and fittings. I could see him tearing up, and I teared up, too. It was a very sweet moment we shared, and we knew this was it. Our 10-year love story was going to restart along a different path.”

My advice

“My advice to everybody out there thinking about it would be to just take the plunge and get married. Waking up beside the person you love every morning is a beautiful feeling. Living with the person you love is surreal. I love the feeling. I truly, truly feel blessed that we found each other, and I pray to god that everyone finds their soulmate.”
