It all began on the sets of a shampoo commercial that Virat and Anushka did together. "When I met her for the first time, I cracked a joke,” said Virat. He also mentioned that he was extremely nervous and didn’t know what else to do in that moment.

For her pre-wedding engagement function, Anushka Sharma wore a Gulkand burgundy velvet Sabyasachi sari. She accessorised her ensemble with a stunning uncut diamond and pearl choker with matching studs, along with a micro black bindi and edgy, smokey eye makeup. Additionally, the roses on her low-bun lent a retro vibe we totally love!

For her mehendi function, Anushka Sharma opted for a bright pop of colour! She wore a Sabyasachi lehenga made in classic Indian silk and embellished with gota patti, in warm and cool hues. A graphic lehenga in fuchsia pink and Indian orange, it was hand-printed by the famous Calcutta block printers and hand-embroidered with gota and marori. She accessorised this outfit with elegant danglers from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery collection.

Setting the standards extremely high, we can safely say that Anushka Sharma was one of the prettiest brides we've ever come across. She wore a pale pink Sabyasachi lehenga with delicate embroidery in hues of pink, green, and yellow. The lehenga was also embellished with silver-gold metal thread, pearls, and beads.

After returning from their honeymoon, the couple had two receptions. One was in Delhi, comprising primarily of their close family, while the other was in Mumbai for the film fraternity and cricket celebrities.

For the Delhi reception, Anushka was seen wearing a rich red Sabyasachi benarasi silk sari. She upgraded the entire look with red sindoor, mogras in her tight bun, a red bindi, and jhumkas and layered neck-pieces from the Sabyasachi Bridal Jewellery collection.

To give a relief from the heavy, bridal Indianwear, Anushka chose an indo-western Sabyasachi outfit in smokey grey, for her star-studded Mumbai reception. Hand beaten silver thread, textured sequins, and cut organza flowers were assembled on an embroidered tulle base to create an ethereal lehenga, paired with a dupatta that was cinched on the waist with the signature Sabyasachi belt. She went on to accessorise this ensemble with rose cut diamonds, solitaires, and briolettes from the Sabyasachi Fine Jewellery collection.
