Vocal For Local
"Lately, I have noticed that couples are readily opting for indigenous designs that are true to local arts and crafts. As pandemic couples become more mindful about the vendors involved in the wedding planning process, they are willing to consciously support local produce and artisans when it comes to extravagant floral arrangements; and are also opting for decor elements including cane, clay pots etc, with a fun, quirky twist!"

Splash of Colour
"Taking a cue from the unforeseen, tumultuous events that unfolded last year, along with giving people a sense of hope and optimism for the year that lies ahead, it seems the biggest colour trends will draw inspiration from the 'Pantone Colors of the Year' 2021.
PANTONE 13-0647, a vibrant hue called 'illuminating' is a bright yellow representing unity, stability and hope. However, when it comes to incorporating this shade into your wedding decor, ensure that it is utilized in the right proportions. While it's the perfect pick for day functions—such as the mehendi or haldi—it may also be used for a more contemporary setting; paired with yellow roses, lilies, sunflowers, alongside a contrasting grey or blue. Besides flowers and upholstery, you may also choose to introduce this colour with eclectic, off-beat accents including printed tiles, chandeliers, candles, or even through lighting. If you opt to go for a more traditional approach, flowers such as the evergreen marigold can be paired with a combination of pink and orange, the perfect marriage between warm hues."

A Wedding to Rememeber
"This year is all about personalisation! Your special day should truly reflect your unique aesthetic and beautiful journey. These days, couples are closely working with their wedding designers to create a couture 'duogram' (to combine the bride and the groom's initials together, with the first letter initial from the bride and the first letter initial from the groom) that is featured prominently throughout the functions. The personalised crest will make an appearance on everything—starting from the welcome gift tags to cocktail napkins. At Aashna Saran Design, we have termed this as the 'event branding exercise', to make sure every element has been beautifully woven around the couples heartwarming love story."

Raise the Bar
"The bar set-up is increasingly becoming a focal point at weddings—pushing for customised, stand-out decor accents. It's the need of the hour to make your wedding bar creative and thematic! Whether you choose to adorn the bar with magnificent floral arrangements or monogramed bottles and glasses, the main idea is to elevate the overall guest experience. Aashna Saran Design aims at creating a larger-than-life bar with magnanimous appeal, all inclusive of theatrics involving fire and nitrogen."

Zero Waste Celebrations
"Many millennial couples are looking to take an eco-friendly path with respect to their decor elements. They are readily opting for zero waste wedding celebrations by going digital with e-invites, picking reusable cutlery made from steel and glassware, and also tying up with NGOs to avoid food wastage. The pandemic has urged us to shift focus from the quintessential big-fat-Indian-wedding to a more intimate, sustainable affair."
