Unique wedding invitations are increasingly trending as couples seek designs that go beyond traditional announcements. Today, invitations serve as a canvas to tell the couple's distinctive love story, blending meaningful symbolism with modern elegance. This shift has sparked a rise in bespoke invitation suites, meticulously curated to reflect the couple's journey and individuality. This trend highlights the growing preference for invitations that not only leave a lasting impression but also celebrate each couple's journey to their big day.

Hopping onto the bandwagon were Shivika and Pranay, who tied the knot in Budapest on May 10, 2024 and got their invites made by Itchha Talreja, an award-winning designer and the founder of Itchha Talreja Designs, who has dedicated over a decade to specialising in crafting exquisite wedding invitations.

The couple envisioned a wedding that seamlessly blended tradition with modernity, seeking the same in their invite that echoed their unique love story. Their wedding invite was inspired by the timeless symbolism of yin and yang as it merged the celestial bodies of the sun and moon to show how they complement each other. Embedded within the design, stars shimmered, radiating good vibes, while the moon's phases symbolised perpetual growth and transformation. Their sun signs were included in a galaxy background, symbolising their connection in the big universe.

The theme developed centered around halftone prints, and utilised dual shades to create a subtle yet captivating tone-on-tone effect. Our focus was on customising an oval-shaped motif, making it distinctive to Shivika and Pranay's identity. Elements within the invitation, such as the logo, the dome of Buda Castle, and floral motifs, were all strategically incorporated to echo the oval shape, lending a modern and contemporary touch to the entire ensemble.

The first event, titled "A Buda Beginning," set the tone for the celebrations. Opting for a subtle approach, the imagery of stirring martini glasses evoked a sense of anticipation and conviviality.

The next event, named "Gypsy Souls Unite," was the Haldi ceremony held at Lazar Farms, a beautiful horse farm. The invitation had shades of tan, and incorporated images of horses, horse shoes, and belts to evoke an equestrian vibe.

"Tracks to 'I Do'" was the Sangeet, held at the Hungarian Railway Museum. The invitation featured subtle hints of railway tracks placed strategically, along with a train engine blowing musical elements, perfectly capturing the spirit of the event.

"Celestial Vows," as the name suggests, was the wedding ceremony. The invite was filled with shooting stars, moon phases, and little stars in to the design. To keep it unique, we used shades of burgundy.

Things didn’t just end here. For the stationery design, an oval-shaped, four-fold key card itinerary was created. The welcome letters were personalised in an oval shape, adding a touch of elegance. A unique coffee table book featured an oval cut-out with a picture of Budapest inside, showcasing the wedding venues. There was also an oval, two-fold "Epicurean Voyage" card to introduce the chefs who came down for the wedding to prepare a special meal along with airport placards in the shape of round-shaped cards that helped guide and escort guests.
