Last weekend was all about the Ambani wedding. Whether it was the press, the media, or social media, all of us were folllowing the grand wedding, ceremony by ceremony. We (and people around the world) were taking notes—who is attending, what are they wearing, what's on the menu. The Ambani family, along with their discerning guests, showcased a plethora of looks, and we took it upon ourselves to break down the trends that emerged throughout the festivities.

With a penchant for heritage, grandeur, and legacy, the royal wedding, so to say, has unfolded opulence like never before. We might not be your personal Law Roach, but we promise to make you stand out at the next wedding you attend and help you create a moodboard like never before. Drawing inspiration from the hottest trends at this grand event, here are your style cues for the upcoming wedding season.

Bejewelled hair

The Ambani wedding was a testament to the heralding of a new trend—bejewelled hairdos. From studs for buns to chains of gemstones wrapped around braids, hair jewellery found a spot at the Anant-Radhika festivities. Everyone including Isha Ambani, Shloka Mehta, and Kriti Sanon among others flaunted the finest, most rare pieces of jewelled ornaments on their hairdos. From heirloom jewels to discerning custom pieces we have picked out the best looks of the evening.

An homage to legacy and ceontemporary aesthetic

While we loved the traditional ensembles and the Indian craftmanship on display at the wedding celebrations, we equally loved the Indo-Western outfits. The last a Schiaparelli saree was heard of when Maharani Sita Devi of Kapurthala had an entire collection made for her by  Elsa Schiaparelli in 1935. A traditional attire with a modern silhoutte has never been given a more elegant form than this. Carving out a new era and identity of bridal couture, the Ambanis presented a convergence of cultures. By incorporating contemporary, Isha Ambani and Radhika Ambani have created a new legacy of traditional ensembles.

Men's jewellery on display

A touch of drama and a splash of royalty, the men at the Ambani-Merchant wedding celebrations adorned jewellery with panache. From SRK's three-layered necklace to Anant Ambani's extensive brooch collection the men accentuated royalty in style. These are some of the pieces we think stood out. A PSA for all the men approaching the upcoming wedding season–hop on to the jewellery shopping wagon!
