Dazzling drama & decadence
Ahead of the festive season that calls for glamour reimagined, label RI Ritu Kumar has launched its Festive Winter 24 collection, entailing a harmonious blend of two halves—one revelling in the richness of Indian hues; the other embodying airy lightness and translucence. Championing the Jamdani weave of Bengal, this limited line offers a selection of saris, kurtas, and lehengas. The satin and organza ensembles boast a new patchwork of Farrukhabad blocks onto signature ‘Ritu Kumar’ pastels.
A golden launch
Bringing their Italian shoemaking heritage to India, Golden Goose has launched stores in two malls—at Chanakya in New Delhi and Phoenix Mall of Asia in Bengaluru. The Bengaluru store features a striking centrepiece of sneakers suspended from the ceiling, paying homage to the brand’s technique of sun-drying sneakers for their iconic vintage yellow hue. The New Delhi store also showcases Golden Goose’s latest venture of functional handbags. Both offer bespoke personalisation services.
Everyday jewels reimagined
Veering away from subtle minimalism and embracing the idea of “Everyday Extra,” Kumari Fine Jewellery has made its debut in the artistic hub of Kala Ghoda, Mumbai, with a collection that’s bold, expressive and fun. Making modern jewellery more accessible and versatile, the brand has on offer a variety of jewellery, from ethically sourced
lab-grown diamonds to bold statements in gold. Their pieces reimagine traditional jewellery through unique designs to make bling an everyday affair.
Jaipur On your wrist
In India, no wedding is truly complete without an investment in jewellery—and the ‘Brides of Jaipur’ collection by Jaipur Watch Company is testament to this fact. With this range of timepieces, India’s premier micro-luxury watch brand has ventured into women’s watches for the first time, drawing inspiration from the architectural splendour of the Pink City’s palaces and havelis as well as its heritage of jewellery craftsmanship. The beautifully crafted gold watches are works of art that exude a regal aura, adorned with vibrant rubies and emeralds, much like the traditional jewellery worn by Indian brides. At the elegant launch event at Sawai Man Mahal in September, Jaipur Watch Company allowed guests to not only explore the city’s rich traditions—from its music to wedding customs and cuisine—but also highlighted through experts how the city’s artisanal heritage shaped their jewellery traditions.
Served Sicilian style
The latest offering by Thomas Goode, a collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana, redefines festive tableware. Traversing Sicillian art, these pieces emboss bold colours, geometric designs and intricate floral motifs onto fine porcelain and glassware with a Mediterranean flair. Merging Thomas Goode’s legacy of exquisite craftsmanship with D&G’s contemporary design language, the collection fosters an extraordinary dining experience
Handcrafting luxury
The globally-renowned Aquazzura has its first address in India at Chanakya Mall, New Delhi. The boutique is designed to evoke an indoor garden, reminiscent of the Italian countryside in full bloom. Wrapped in an aqua palette, the store is interspersed with hand-painted marble shelves that showcase an array of refined footwear—everything from evergreens to extensive bridalwear—coupled with bags and jewellery, all of which could secure a spot in a modern bride’s wardrobe.
Sports core reinvented
Navigating through the array of ‘sports cores’ that made news in fashion this year, there’s one that stood out above all. The U.S. Polo Assn. x His Highness Sawai Padmanabh Singh Collection is a premium capsule line that merges the opulence of Jaipur’s royal heritage with the elevated elegance of sports fashion. Drawing inspiration from the architectural elements and historic influences of the city, the collection showcases rich fabrics and an enduring design language.
Bespoke bonds
There’s a new bespoke wedding service that’s debuted with a newly reimagined ballroom in Delhi. ‘Bandhan by Shangri-La’ offers a comprehensive experience, from personalised venue selection to flamboyant décor, gourmet dining and elite accommodations. ‘Bandhan’ also comes with a dedicated wedding specialist, who will guide couples through the chaotic process of planning a wedding. The service also includes collaborating with revered industry stalwarts like Tarun Tahiliani for trousseaux needs and Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri for fine jewellery. Following this inaugural launch in India, ‘Bandhan’ will soon take its signature celebrations to global destinations.
City of dreams
After a decade of development, Cinnamon Life by the John Keells Group opened its doors in Colombo this October. Part of the ‘City of Dreams Sri Lanka’ project, this fully integrated resort is a comprehensive centre for business, leisure and entertainment, designed to host over 5,000 guests with 12 exquisite restaurants. The resort merges opulence with purpose by featuring exclusive museum-grade artworks and exceptional rejuvenating wellness centres, making itself known as one of Colombo’s largest sustainable event venues and an epicentre of lifestyle and world-class travel.
Luxury in leather
Salvatore Ferragamo has launched their highly-anticipated Autumn/Winter 2024 collection, featuring their three iconic key pieces: The Hug Bag, The Fiamma Bag and their Ballerina Flats with their signature Vara bow. Patrons who witnessed the collection launch at DLF Emporio in New Delhi experienced a sensory journey through the brand’s Florentine heritage, enhanced by fine cuisine and immersive activities. Here, Creative Director Maximilian Davis presented the line’s modern reinterpretation of classic silhouettes.
Armoured in Armani
Armani Beauty has opened its first flagship store at DLF Promenade, New Delhi, featuring its entire spectrum of make-up and skincare products and fragrances. Those at the opening were treated to a make-up masterclass by Natasha Mathias and also enjoyed the company of actor Athiya Shetty. Some of the brand’s most coveted products stood out on the shelves, including the Power Fabric Foundation, Lip Maestro Satin, fragrance Armani Code and the anti-aging range, Crema Nera.
A confluence of cultures
Coming full circle in his accolade-studded career, Rahul Mishra is now the first Indian designer to showcase easy-to-wear luxury separates at the Paris Fashion Week. His Spring/Summer 2025 prêt-à-porter line from his new label, AEFW by Rahul Mishra, features midi dresses, long skirts, statement blazers and eccentric trousers, weaving together global and local craftsmanship. Through the sartorial coterie of deep hues, embroideries and applique work, each garment bridges the gap between sustainable creativity and individual functionality.
A bookmark for brides
Chennai has a new trusted trove for brides to build their trousseau—Shimai Jayachandra now has a flagship store in the city. With the fusion of South Indian heritage and Indo-European elegance, the brand’s distinct vision is evident in every handwoven bridal ensemble here. Besides, from the hand-carved Venetian chairs to the gilded Chettinad mirrors, each element of the store has a connection with the textile industry and revells in Indian craftsmanship.
Cosmi chords
Close on the heels of its launch in April, Cosmic Kylie Jenner—the debut fragrance by Kylie Cosmetics—has made its way to the Indian market. Crafted to smell “out-worldly,” the scent carries amber and floral notes, and the bottle’s design alludes to the notion of belonging to another world. Available in three refillable sizes as well as a travel-friendly iteration, it has base notes of vanilla and musk, though it leaves a sensual, citrusy after smell because of star jasmine and blood orange accords.
Dipped in Diptyque
Diptyque has made its way from Saint-Germain in Paris to the Chanakya Mall in New Delhi, its first boutique in Asia. The store features the brand’s signature green façade, custom “Diptyque à Delhi” mosaic, a hand-painted ceiling, and intricate wall designs, with every detail narrating a story of the maison. Drawing from Haussmann-era interiors and Indian palaces, the place is thoughtfully divided into two rooms, with unique selections of luxury
home décor displayed throughout.
Beaming bloom
Max Factor has made itself known to India with the launch of its Full Bloom Colour Collection with brand ambassador Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Available exclusively at Shoppers Stop, the collection entails six essential products for the eyes, lips and nails—from eyeshadow sticks and matte lip crayons to high shine nail polishes. The versatile shades, which allow everything from intense looks to soft touch-ups, are perfect for modern brides looking to express themselves through make-up.
Honouring heritage
In a hat tip to Lucknow’s legacy of artistry, architectural grandeur and hospitality, Good Earth has unveiled its latest boutique, offering a microcosm of Awadhi culture. Curated by Creative Director Anita Lal and interior designer Adil Ahmad, the boutique is shrouded in various shades of green. Guests are greeted by marble floors and led to a Mughal- inspired central fountain, adorned with pieces from the brand’s signature crockery. Each section here carries distinctive touches that celebrate the city’s heritage.
