Alia Bhatt's recent appearance at the Hope Gala, an event she hosted to raise funds for her chosen charity Salaam Bombay, was nothing short of a sartorial triumph. For the gala, she donned a 30-year-old cream-embroidered lace saree created by celebrated designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. She completed the look with emerald earrings and a 'clean girl' make-up look.

By choosing the vintage saree, Bhatt once again showed us how to effortlessly blend style and substance with heritage.

The saree was hand-embroidered in 1994 with silk threads over 3,500 hours. Each stitch tells a story of artistry, resulting in a fabric that exudes both luxury and heritage. The six yards of elegance was paired with a custom halter neck tulle blouse, adding a contemporary edge to the traditional ensemble. Bhatt’s look gave us a lesson on how to celebrate the enduring relevance of Indian craftsmanship. It's a testament to the timelessness of fashion when a garment crafted three decades ago can still turn heads on a global stage.

In a world where trends come and go, Alia Bhatt's choice to wear a 30-year-old vintage saree serves as a reminder that true style has no expiration date. It's a celebration of heritage, craftsmanship, and a fashion moment that will be remembered for years to come!

The gala was organized in partnership with the Mandarin Oriental hotel group at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, and joining the cause were director Gurinder Chadha, musician Harshdeep Kaur, and comedian Rohan Joshi, among others.
