“I got this lehenga from one of my favourite designers, Ridhi Mehra, a few months ago. I haven’t had a chance to wear it anywhere yet and from the looks of it, I won’t be attending a wedding anytime this year! I paired my outfit with Chanel sneakers, and decided to skip accessories altogether.
I’m big on heels, usually. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve truly started valuing the importance of comfort, so I would definitely recommend sneakers to anyone looking for ease. I think sneakers with an Indian outfit is a great idea, especially for a destination wedding.
For weddings, I usually wear a lehenga or a pre-draped sari. I also try to choose an outfit that is dramatic and striking in impact, but also comfortable and lightweight. You’re not likely to find me wearing anything too ornate or OTT. But I love a good, statement choker or necklace to elevate a simple outfit.”

“I styled my black Adidas sneakers with an off-white gota patti lehenga. I wanted to play with monotones, hence I decided on a black-and-white combination.
I live in sneakers! They dictate a certain mood that definitely keeps you going the whole day. It’s all about the perfect blend of comfort and style that they offer and that’s what makes them so versatile. In fact, I don’t remember the last time I wore heels with an Indian outfit. You know you’ll have to stand for hours and dance a lot, and you want to enjoy that. I always wear juttis or embellished flats with a sari, suit, or sharara. I prefer my outfits to be lightweight, so I can move around with ease.”

“You’ll notice mellow pastels on my sneakers, and a dull, iridescent grey on my lehenga . I didn't accessorise much, and kept my look super-simple, because comfy shoes equal lots of dancing; and lots of dancing equals maang tikkas and earrings falling off!
As much as I love looking a few inches taller, being a professional barati is not an easy job! Most of the times, I’ve worn sneaks under my lehenga to recover from all the running around in heels that happened at the previous function!
At weddings, I prefer being underdressed, and the ‘wedding’ style I have developed over the years is very old-school and effortless . I stick to light lehengas and comfortable ghararas.”

“The whole fusion and funk style is very me. I teamed this V-neck blouse from Devnagari and silver jewellery from Tiana (my go-to piece that I wear with western and Indian outfits all the time) with a contrasting, featherweight lehenga.
I’m not one to wear heels under my lehengas, ever (yeah I’m the first one to hit the dance floor and the last to leave), I often wear boots or sneakers under my lehengas, even for traditional weddings, whenever I can.
I put this outfit together in five minutes, and that’s what this look is about—being effortlessly you.”

“I’ve paired a fun, crochet biker jacket with a white-on-white raffia skirt that has delicate, floral embroidery, both from our Summer/Resort 20 collection. I am wearing this outfit with my Balenciaga sneakers. It’s no secret that sneakers are incredibly comfortable, and a good break from heels. When it comes to Indianwear, I tend to mix-and-match: I would definitely wear a classic, Indian skirt with something modern, whether it’s a shirt or even a bold, contemporary jewellery piece.”
