How to nourish and strengthen your nails a few months before your wedding
Give your nails some love in the build-up to your big day.
One of the crucial elements of a perfect wedding is to look perfect from tip to toe; therefore, flaunting your nails is as essential as flaunting the dress on the wedding day. Having gorgeous, healthy nails can improve your entire bridal appearance and give you more self-assurance. It's crucial to set a pre-wedding nail care routine if you want to guarantee that your nails look their best on your special day.
Whether you are the bride or the bridesmaid, leave no chance to pamper yourself, and this nail-nourishing guide to strengthen your nails in preparation for your wedding is all you will ever need.
Here’s how to keep your nails up for your big day.
Plan ahead: The best way to look perfect on the wedding day is to start a few months in advance, as it will allow ample time for noticeable enhancement and ensure that the nails are in perfect shape for the big day.
Balanced diet: A healthy diet is essential for the growth of solid nails, so start eating better, six months before your wedding. Ensure you follow a well-balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and protein. Wondering what promotes nail health? It’s the leafy greens, nuts, and lean proteins. Foods like oranges, carrots, sweet potatoes, etc., are filled with Vitamin A; eggs, barley, broccoli, etc., are an excellent source of vitamins B2, B7, and B9.
Stay hydrated: Brittleness is a sign that your nails are not healthy. To prevent that, keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
Cuticle care: Avoid cutting the cuticles as they act as the barrier against infection. In fact, add cuticle oil or cream to keep your nails and the surrounding area moisturised. Use a daily application of nutritious nail and cuticle oil or take a vitamin E pill, then apply the liquid to your cuticles and nails. Rub it gently and leave it overnight. By doing this the skin around them looks better and also your nails will grow fast. You can also use coconut oil as it is hydrating, and nourishing. You may encourage nail development and better blood circulation by massaging them into your cuticles and nails.
Regular manicures: It’s essential to get regular manicures one to two months before the big day. If you have a habit of biting nails, start a few months earlier; each visit will help make them stronger and keep the cuticles and skin moisturised and clean.
Avoid using harsh chemicals and buffing your nails: Always opt for an acetone-free alternative to remove the nail colour and avoid exposure to harsh nail colour removers. Opt for non-damaging polishes and limit the use of acrylic or synthetic nails whenever possible. Furthermore, avoid buffing your nails too much. Prioritize gentle care over excessive buffing and nail treatments that preserve the health of your nails.
Avoid harsh nail care products: Avoid harsh nail care products including acrylics, gels, and excessive amounts of lacquer. Your natural nails may be weakened and damaged by them. Pick nail polishes containing keratin or calcium as strengthening agents in the formulation. These polishes may offer a lovely finish while nourishing and protecting your nails.
Avoid biting your nails: If you have a habit of chewing your nails, try to kick it. To prevent biting, think about using a bitter-tasting nail paint.
Use a protective base coat: Before applying nail polish, use a quality base coat to strengthen and protect your nails. Look for products that contain strengthening ingredients like biotin or calcium.
Remember, patience is key, as improving nail health takes time. But we are sure, these dedicated efforts will ensure your nails are not just a canvas for your bridal beauty, but a reflection of your overall well-being on your special day!
