#ExpertSpeak: LA-Based Makeup Artist, Roshar on Bridal Makeup And Indian Skin
In India for the launch of NYX Cosmetics’ first flagship store in Malad, Mumbai, LA-based makeup expert, Roshar, on bridal makeup.
We quizzed Los Angeles-based makeup artist Roshar on the essentials for a bride on her big day. And heloved the fact that Indian women accepted colour way more openly than women in other cultures.
How much can Indian brides experiment with their makeup?
I think as far as bridal makeup in India is concerned, it’s a little bit different than other countries. People here-—because of the culture, food, music, clothing, and textiles are a little bit more exposed to colours. In India, makeup is a celebration of not just colours but also textures and that could be translated to your look. The luxury of having beautiful golden Indian skin lets you push the envelope—it can actually take on a lot of colour without looking too gaudy or crazy. It really is just about wearing it with confidence.
Tips for a day-to-night wedding.
An Indian wedding is a celebration so I would say pick fun textures. Like glitter, for example, if you put it on the eyelids on top of your eyeshadow, it makes a great impact and is quick and simple.
Your favourite products to work with are?
Three products from NYX—the Perfect Filter Shadow, the Professional Ombré Blush, and the Total Control Drop Foundation. These three are perfect to finish an entire look and I use them very often.
