An Expert-Approved AM to PM Skincare Routine For Glowing Skin
Celebrity Dermatologist, Dr Jaishree Sharad shares her cardinal beauty tips and product picks for all skin types.
Been struggling with dry, peeling skin in winters and excess oiliness in sultry summers? Oh, we’ve all been there. As each of us tackles our skin concerns day in-day out, we must keep in mind that expert advice is the gospel truth. While we may try our hand (or our face, technically) at producing face-packs out of kitchen ingredients or following supposed internet beauty hacks, the days before your wedding are not the ideal time to experiment.
For healthy, glowing skin, you must get onto a skincare routine at least 3 months prior to your big day. Additionally, if you suffer from pigmentation or acne, 6 months is recommended. To help you get on track, we had Dr Jaishree Sharad share with you a comprehensive all-day (AM to PM) skincare ritual, to suit all skin types!
SAY HELLO TO SUNSHINE! (AM)
“Your skincare routine must start with basic cleansing in the morning”, advocates Dr Sharad. Use a salicylic acid based face-wash for oily, acne-prone skin and a gentle soap-free cleanser for dry skin.

This must be followed by an essence that contains volcanic water-rich minerals and penetrates the deeper layers of the skin, rejuvenating the skin and improving its overall texture.
Apply a light moisturiser and top it with a sunscreen which gives both UVA and UVB protection. The sun's UV rays can cause serious sun-damage, skin allergies, tanning, pigmentation and skin sensitivity. Thereby, it is essential that you apply and re-apply sunscreen repeatedly, throughout the day. To stay fully protected from the harmful rays, wear appropriate clothing and carry an umbrella if need be!
'Fotoprotector fusion-water by ISDIN is a broad spectrum, light weight, water-based sunscreen which sits well on your skin and does not cake with application of makeup. Neither does it feel sticky, nor does it form a whitish coat over the skin, when applied.'
GOODNIGHT, GORGEOUS (PM)
At bedtime, make sure you don’t forget to remove all your makeup!
Following this, use a cleanser to deep cleanse and remove all the excess oils, dirt and grime from the skin’s surface and pores. You can make use of the same cleanser that you did in the morning.
Dab a Vitamin C enriched serum under the eye to prevent dark circles.
Before you hit the bed, remember to apply a night cream. For acne-prone skin, you should use an anti-acne cream prescribed by your dermatologist, followed by a gel-based moisturizer, instead of the Vitamin C serum and night cream.
