3 times Sonam Kapoor-Ahuja wore her mother's jewellery, including at Ambani's pre-wedding ceremonies

Remember how Sonam Kapoor-Ahuja dazzled in her mother, Sunita Kapoor's jewellery, on various occasions, including at the Anant Amabani and Radhika Merchant's pre-wedding ceremonies in Jamnagar? She reminded us of this lovely sentiment and that she is the ultimate style icon when it comes to keeping traditions alive. 

All the celebrities who attended the Ambani pre-wedding functions made a style statement and delivered looks, and Kapoor-Ahuja caught our eye with her statement jewellery, a piece from her mother’s exquisite and vintage jewellery collection.

Radhika and Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding celebration 

During the Hastakshar function at the three-day event, Kapoor chose to wear a traditional Ladakhi attire, in line with the theme, Heritage Indian. Crafted from silk by artisans in Benaras, the silhouette was a pistachio mogos, a gown-like dress, paired with a rani pink shawl known as a bok. The outfit was from Namza Couture, a modern label by Ladakhi designers Jigmet Disket and Padma Yangchan.

In her Instagram caption, Kapoor-Ahuja mentioned, "This ensemble features intricate phoenix embroidery symbolising energy and wisdom, with a crane motif representing peace and prosperity."

She completed the look with a diamond-encrusted neckpiece, copper handcuffs, bold statement rings, and elegant pearl earrings—all borrowed from her loved ones' wardrobe, including items from her mother.

Her mehendi ceremony 

Kapoor-Ahuja made her wedding ceremony extra special by adorning a gorgeous choker necklace from her mother's collection. She paired it with her lehenga-choli designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Though this was not the first time she wore the choker; the actor had previously donned the same necklace in 2014 during her red carpet appearances at the Cannes Film Festival. On that occasion, she paired the choker with a stylish Anamika Khanna net saree dress in a pale pink shade with intricate sequin embroidery details. She looked stunning in both the outfits, and the sentimental value added a whole new charm to her look.

A friend's wedding 

Kapoor clearly knows how to make the most of her and her mother’s closet. In 2022, she donned her mother, Sunita Kapoor's jewellery—heavy jhumkas, a matching mang tikka, and an opulent white ensemble with golden work for attending a friend's wedding.
