Sonakshi Sinha wears her mother Poonam's 44-year old white Chikankari saree and vintage jewellery for her wedding

We have seen actors choose stunning designer attires for their wedding ceremonies—Anushka Sharma and Alia Bhatt, among a few others, wore Sabyasachi sarees, Kiara Advani picked a Manish Malhotra lehenga, and so on. Some, however, opt for something sentimental and close to their heart, like an outfit from their mother's wardrobe. From Yami Gautam to Isha Ambani, and now Sonakshi Sinha, these stars have worn their mother's wedding attire on their special day.

Sinha, who married Zaheer Iqbal, her partner for seven years, looked stunning in Poonam Sinha's 44-year-old white chikankari saree. She paired the six-yard saree with a simple striped blouse and a diamond and pearl choker set and kadas, also from her mother's collection. She completed the look with a silver bindi and a bun adorned with real flower gajra.

Her groom, Zaheer Iqbal, complemented her in a white embroidered kurta-pyjama and a golden watch. For the wedding reception, Sinha opted for a red Banarasi silk saree.

The first pictures from their wedding were shared by the couple on Instagram. In their caption, the duo explained the significance of the date, June 23, for them.
