Inside Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta's Lavish Pre-Engagement Sangeet

Mukesh and Nita Ambani celebrated their son Akash Ambani’s engagement with Shloka Mehta with an extravagant pre-wedding sangeet ceremony at their residence in Mumbai yesterday. Shloka Mehta is the daughter of diamond magnate Russel Mehta and Mona Mehta and heads the family-run Rosy Blue Diamonds.

Both Isha Ambani and bride-to-be Shloka Mehta opted for outfits by the designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Shloka was seen in an all-gold lehenga while Isha wore a soft pink embroidered lehenga with intricate floral detailing. Both paired their ensembles with heavy diamond chokers, matching maang tikas, and chandelier earrings. Akash Ambani wore a soft pink kurta.

The engaged couple later had a change of outfit where Shloka opted for a blush pink lehenga choli by Sabyasachi and heavy jewellery while Akash Ambani wore a mauve kurta with white pajamas. 

The ceremony was a star-studded affair with the biggest names in Bollywood—Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, Ranbir Kapoor, Anupama and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Ayan Mukerji, Karan Johar, Sachin Tendulkar and wife Anjali Tendulkar, among others.

Alia Bhatt looked ravishing in a Manish Malhotra vibrant pink, gold and ivory lehenga and accessorised it with chandbalis and a neat bun.

Gauri Khan looked her elegant best in a heavily embellished blue Falguni Shane Peacock anarkali gown. Shah Rukh Khan looked dapper in a classic black suit.

Priyanka Chopra arrived in a red hot sari also by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla with rumoured beau Nick Jonas by her side.
