Everything we know about Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani’s wedding

The lovebirds are all set to tie the knot on February 21.

One of Bollywood's most anticipated wedding is just around the corner! Jackky Bhagnani and Rakul Preet Singh are set to tie the knot on February 21, and the excitement is palpable. Originally planning a destination wedding abroad, the lovebirds have opted for an intimate two-day celebration in Goa. With the big day fast approaching, we've got all the deets for you.

Pre-wedding preparations

Earlier this month, Rakul Preet Singh's family hosted a beautiful Akhand Paath ceremony at their home. This traditional Sikh ritual, held a week before the wedding, marks the auspicious beginning of the celebrations. Typically conducted at a Gurudwara or the bride or groom's residence, the ceremony involves the continuous recitation of the Guru Granth Sahib. As part of the tradition, the groom is presented with meaningful gifts including the kara, kirpan, and sweets. Rakul Preet Singh shared glimpses of these heartwarming ceremonies on her Instagram, setting the tone for the joyous occasion ahead.

The couple also took a combined bachelor's trip to Thailand a few weeks ago, with family and close friends including Pragya Jaiswal and Lakshmi Manchu among others. This trend of combining bachelor and bachelorette parties is gaining popularity, offering a chance to bring together families and close friends. Bhagnani and Singh celebrated their shared love for water and the beach, making memories of a lifetime. Their pictures are proof!

The reason for the change in venue

According to a report on a Bollywood portal, Singh and Bhagnani had planned for a wedding in the Middle East. However, after PM Modi’s earnest request to the nation to choose India as the location for celebrating major life events, the couple put away months of planning and chose Goa for their wedding ceremonies. The 'sunshine state' holds a special significance for the couple as that’s where their love story began and blossomed.

A look at the wedding invite

The couple's beautiful wedding card recently made rounds on the Internet, and we couldn't stop gushing about it. The hashtag, #AbDonoBhagnaNi, is cute and goofy. The first page of the invite, with its white and blue hues, gives their loved ones a glimpse of the dreamy beach wedding. The second part of the invitation features a beautiful mandap set up by the beach, along with the announcement of the date for the pheras.

An eco-friendly wedding

Going eco-friendly is the way forward for this adorable couple, who've chosen not to send out physical invites for their big day. They're also committed to measuring the carbon footprint of their wedding and planting equivalent trees. This is not the first time celebrities have set an example with their celebrations. Dia Mirza-Vaibhav Rekhi, Milind Soman-Ankita Konwar, Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma, and Sonam Kapoor-Anand Ahuja had sustainable celebrations, too. Some of the practices that they followed include choosing wedding decor made from sustainable material, ensuring a zero-plastic wedding, opting for invites made out of recyclable material, and handing out saplings to their guests as gifts.

Who are the bride and groom wearing?

As per reports, it seems that Singh is pulling out all the stops for her big day by selecting multiple A-list designers including Tarun Tahiliani, Anamika Khanna, Anita Dongre, and Manish Malhotra for her wedding attire. In fact, the duo was recently spotted outside Tarun Tahiliani's studio for the final fittings of their wedding ensembles.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, the couple has chosen three designers for each of the three days of their wedding celebrations. “Jackky and Rakul are keeping it very intimate in terms of the functions, but the one area they want to put their best foot forward in is how they look on the best day of their lives. The elegance of a Sabyasachi creation, the timeless designs of Manish Malhotra, or a magnificent Tarun Tahiliani ensemble—they are finalising one," quoted a source.
