Dermatologists and skin experts give us the lowdown on bridal beauty treatments to invest in before the big day

These rejuvenating face and body treatments come highly recommended.

In today's world of personalisation, it is crucial to curate a custom beauty regime that is a healthy mix of efficacious formulations and new-age treatments that promise to correct dullness, pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, and more. But when it comes to skin treatments, it is important to make an informed decision based on what your skin needs. Brides Today recommends some of the latest innovations in beauty to curate a line-up of the most effective treatments that are worth your time and money. Look no further, your treatment calendar starts here.

The CloudSkin Treatment

If a youthful, glowing complexion is what you are craving, this treatment is for you. The CloudSkin Treatment utilises the power of air to infuse nourishing actives deep into the skin and scalp. And it achieves this minus any needles—the actives sink as deep as 1.5cm into the skin, making it a painless procedure.

Dr Kiran Kaur Sethi, dermatologist and Founder, Isya Aesthetics, explains, “We use the power of pressurised air to create a cloud effect on the skin, which makes it appear smoother, calmer, and brighter, while addressing different skin concerns.” This treatment can be used for almost all skin types and concerns like pigmentation, acne, anti ageing, and hydration and nourishment. “We also use this technology to infuse growth actives into the scalp for healthier hair,” she adds. Dr Kiran especially recommends this treatment for brides to-be as it helps nourish any neglected body parts as well—like the neck, chest, abdomen, back, and hands, which, very often, we fail to give attention to. The procedure takes about 30 to 45 minutes per session, depending on the area. Dr Kiran recommends a session per week, for eight weeks, to get lasting results. What we also love about this treatment is that there is no downtime.

Stem Cell Facial

This facial is one of the most buzzworthy treatments. “For the Stem Cell Facial, we take a small graft of tissue from behind the ear hairline as a ‘punch’, and it is then split into micro cells to create a solution mix. This mix is filled with stem cells, which are then injected into the face to treat fine lines, boost radiance, minimise pores, and overall skin tightening,” explains Dr Chytra V Anand, dermatologist, cosmetologist, and founder of Kosmoderma. The Stem Cell Facial works wonderfully on acne scars and evens out skin texture. Its effects last for three to six months.

The Ice Facial

This cool, new treatment (quite literally!) is great for stressed out skin. The Ice Cryotherapy Facial generates a rush of blood and oxygen, which eventually results in a ton of skin benefits. Dr Geetika Mittal Gupta, dermatologist and aesthetic physician at ISAAC Luxe, explains, “Cryo, the Greek term for ‘cold’ works as a non-invasive treatment which helps revitalise the skin. By subjecting the face to ice vapours, this treatment detoxifies the skin and reduces inflammation. It also accelerates collagen production, which visibly reduces fine lines and results in a smoother complexion.”

The procedure is geared towards a particular body part that involves short exposures to air temperatures up to -160°C. The skin is cooled down sufficiently with nitrogen vapour, to encourage vasoconstriction, followed by activation of optimal body defenses. While the Ice Facial is great for the face, neck, and decolletage, it can also be used on other body parts. Offering immediate results, Dr Geetika recommends a cryo facial every three to five weeks. “Frequency is the key," she suggests.

FMS

According to Dr Jaishree Sharad, author and medical director of Skinfiniti Aesthetic & Laser Clinic, Tesla Former Functional Magnetic Stimulation (FMS) is the latest advancement in non-invasive body sculpting treatments. “TESLA Former uses electromagnetic energy to tone your abs, building your muscle by burning fat. This non-invasive body sculpting, muscle-building treatment can be used for any part of your body, and it promises a 360-degree transformation,” Dr Jaishree tells Brides Today. During the course of this quick and painless treatment (for which you don’t even need to remove your clothes!), an applicator is placed on targeted muscle area, such as abdomen, thighs, buttocks, arms etc. “The applicator generates intense electromagnetic waves that propagate deep into the body, through your clothes. The magnetic field forces the muscles to contract, leading to a more toned appearance. You can achieve localised fat reduction without even breaking a sweat.” Perfect for abdominal, calf, bicep, and thigh strengthening, Dr Jaishree advises three sessions a week in the first month, followed by two sessions a month for another two months to achieve optimum results.

Kosmo Oxy Brit Facial

A signature treatment at Kosmoderma, led by Dr Chytra, this facial works for all skin types, except people with active acne or acne-prone skin. The 75-minute procedure begins with a deep cleanse using carbon gas and salt crystals. It is followed by a uniform thermal heating of the skin layers to open lymphatic channels and improve blood circulation. "Once the skin has been stimulated thermally, a personalised infusion based on one's individual skin type is used to detox the skin."

‘‘The infusions, which contain active ingredients like hyaluronic acid, retinol, kojic acid, Vitamins B and C, lactic acid, chamomile, emblica, etc, pass through the skin’s barrier to work on the living skin cells, making the results last longer. Post the infusion, the deeper skin cells are activated using multi-polar radio frequency waves that cause tissue stimulation leading to immediate lifting and tightening of skin, with a noticeable decrease in pore size. And the last step is a hydro gel mask that cools the skin and seals the ingredients. You will notice a difference in just one session, and ideally, one should get a session every three weeks to maintain luminosity and skin health,” adds Dr Chytra.

A Calming Combination

If your approach to beauty is more holistic, then, versus a single treatment, we’d recommend you to give the carefully-curated menu at the DISCOVER Collection Club a go. Located in New Delhi, this wellness centre offers comprehensive spa and beauty treatments to rejuvenate your senses. What we love is that the therapists and facialists at the Club personalise all treatments keeping your individual preferences in mind. Offering an array of slow-aging technologies including cryo chamber facilities for cryotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, healing treatments, and more, a day at the Club is just what a bride-to-be needs. Try combining a massage with a relaxing facial to rejuvenate both your face and body.

The massage focuses on releasing tension from the head, face, neck and shoulders. The masseuse uses aromatic oils and systematically targets each area to help relieve fatigue, insomnia, and stress headaches. The Soothe, Enrich, and Advanced Antioxidant Facial, on the other hand, is designed for dehydrated, mature, sensitive or damaged skin. This intensely-nourishing treatment delivers a nutrient-rich elixir, which revitalises tired, ageing skin. Infused with antioxidants and essential fatty acids, this facial combats free radical damage and protects skin from the visible signs of ageing. The facialist starts with massaging your face with an intense active serum to increase collagen and hyaluronic acid production.

The next step is a botanical hydration mask, which locks in all the moisture. This restorative treatment results in smooth, deeply-hydrated, vitamin enriched skin. DISCOVER Collection Club uses products by Subtle Energies, an Australian skincare brand that’s certified by Cruelty Free International, and contains no parabens, mineral oils, silicones, or artificial fragrances...Making it perfect for those who love clean formulations.
