Sunshine season and summer weddings mean that you have all the right in the world to experiment with your style, outfits, accessories and hairdos. From vibrant outfits that scream summer and statement hairdos, to pastel tones with soft hairstyles that exude warmth and intimacy for a golden-hour-hued wedding, there’s so much to choose from. And if you’re one of the lucky ones this season, and are the bridesmaid-to-be, then we’d recommend going into the nitty-gritties of every look for your bestie’s wedding. We’ve rounded up what we think are some of the best summer hairstyles for bridesmaids—comfortable, easy to manage, yet incredibly stunning. From fresh flowers to pony tails, we’ve got something for everyone.
A half-up plait for those with long hair
If you’re one of those with long hair and love to keep their hair open, we’d urge you to go for this half-up plait taken from the front and tied together, through the pleats. You can finish the look with some baby’s breath flowers and is ideal for a bridal brunch, or a haldi ceremony by the pool.
A bun with a side flick
Since it is summer, a bun might just be the right hairstyle for you, to prevent sticky and sweaty hair at the end of your evening. A simple bun can be accessorised with a sparkly yet minimal clip to give the look an oomph. This hairdo will go perfectly with a lehenga for any of the wedding ceremonies.
A bun with fresh flowers
You can style your bun either tightly, so that your hair doesn’t bother you for the rest of the night and glam it up with a flower halo. If you want to opt for something more minimalistic and classy, a rose or two will definitely do the trick.
A loosely tied plait
A plait has been a traditional Indian hairstyle and is often an integral part of the wedding look. For one or more of the ceremonies, wearing a loosely tied plait with some baby’s breath flowers or a red rose behind the ear will look beyond stunning for all the bridesmaids.
A ponytail—with a twist
While a ponytail might not be as appealing to you, it really might not be such a bad idea. With slightly wavy hair, tie a ponytail with your hair itself leaving a few strands out, towards the front of your face. Accessories it with a sparkly hair-tye, some flowers or a clip. You can even finish of the look with maangtika.
From Sobhita Dhulipala to Aditi Rao Hydari, these are the weddings that defined the year.
