Natural summer drinks made with fruits or vegetables that will help you beat the heat

Drink up and stay cool!

As the temperature rises, it's crucial to stay hydrated and refreshed. While reaching for a sugary soda might seem tempting, plenty of natural, healthier options quench your thirst and provide essential nutrients. Here are some delightful and nutritious summer drinks made from fruits and vegetables that will help you beat the heat while nourishing your body.

Lemon mint lemonade: Make this refreshing sip with mint leaves, lemon slices, lemon juice, and Stevia sweetener all muddled in a glass with a spoon. Do so until the lemon and mint get crushed. Pour the mix into water and then add ice to the glass.

Ice apple sharbat: Ice apples are a marvel of nature valued for their healing and cooling qualities in Siddha and Ayurvedic therapies. Blend the fruit plup with water to make a delicious drink and add in a pinch of pink salt, lemon juice, or any other ingredient of your choice to make the popular sharbat that is consumed all over India.

Aam Panna: Summer’s favourite fruit, the mango, in its raw form, can be used to make a delicious drink. Mix some raw mango pulp, cumin, jeera, and mint leaves to create this cool summer beverage. During bright and sunny days, this drink not only keeps you refreshed but also boosts energy.

Cucumber juice: Cucumber is packed with minerals such as Vitamin K and C, magnesium, phosphorus, riboflavin, B-6, folate, pantothenic acid, iron, silica, calcium, and zinc to name a few. It is for this very reason that a lot of people swear by drinking cucumber juice to maintain their perfect, moisturised skin over time.

Cucumber mint-infused water: Cucumber is incredibly hydrating and pairs perfectly with mint for a refreshing twist. Simply slice cucumber and mint leaves and add them to a water pitcher. Let it infuse for a few hours in the refrigerator for a crisp and revitalizing drink.

Berry Blast smoothie: Berries are bursting with antioxidants and vitamins, making them an excellent choice for a summer drink. Blend mixed berries like strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries with yogurt or coconut water for a creamy and nutritious smoothie that's perfect for a quick breakfast or post-workout refreshment.

Pineapple Ginger elixir: Pineapple is not only tropical and delicious but also contains bromelain, an enzyme with anti-inflammatory properties. Blend fresh pineapple chunks with a hint of ginger and coconut water for a zesty and revitalizing elixir that aids digestion and boosts immunity.

Watermelon cooler: Watermelon is a summer favourite for a good reason. It’s not only deliciously sweet but also packed with water content, keeping you hydrated at all times. Blend some fresh watermelon chunks with a squeeze of lime juice and a handful of mint leaves for a refreshing and hydrating cooler. For a slushy texture, freeze some watermelon chunks and blend them for a slushy texture.

Iced green tea with citrus: Green tea is loaded with antioxidants and has a refreshing flavour when served cold. Brew green tea and let it cool, then add a splash of citrus juice like lemon or orange for a tangy twist. You can also sweeten it with a touch of honey if desired.

Remember to stay hydrated throughout the day by sipping on these natural, nutrient-packed beverages. While these drinks are delicious on their own, feel free to get creative and mix and match ingredients according to your taste preferences. Experiment with different fruits, vegetables, and herbs to discover your favourite summer concoction.
